Dear Birth Parent(s) We'd like to start by saying that we admire your strength and courage in choosing adoption for your baby, and we appreciate that this must have been a very difficult decision. We hope that after learning more about us, you might consider us as adoptive parents for your child.
Friends and Family We think that family is the most important thing in life, and we are very close with our families. We especially enjoy playing with our nieces and nephews; they really add joy to our lives. (Hopefully they will have a new cousin soon!) Regina has helped out with her siblings' children, so she is no stranger to changing diapers or taking care of babies. Bob is amazing with kids; they climb on him like a jungle gym, maybe because he's 6'3" (yes, he played lots of basketball growing up) and he somehow knows how to relate on their level (yes, that means he thinks like a 5 year old at times!). We like to support our families and friends, and give to important causes. We both recently ran a Cure Autism 5K Run to support our friends whose beautiful daughter is autistic. Bob has for many years sponsored children in Africa and South America, was involved in Special Olympics teaching kids how to sail, and coached a boys' basketball team.
Children We have always considered adoption to be a wonderful option for family building. Bob and I both have relatives who were adopted, and many friends of ours have adopted their children. We intend to try and be the best parents that we can be. We put a priority on staying healthy and active, we feel very lucky to be able to offer a child financial security, and we have a lot of love to give. We also feel lucky to have a strong support network of family and friends in the area with whom to share our joys and struggles in raising our children. We hope to adopt at least two children, and to raise them in the Catholic faith, though we are more spiritual than formal in our religious practices (meaning we think it's ok if we occasionally miss mass, to the dismay of Regina's Mom!). You are obviously a caring person who loves your baby very much and wants to give him or her every opportunity that life can offer. You are also giving hopeful couples like us a chance to become parents. Should you choose us as your child's adoptive parents, we would be honored to raise your child with all of our love and support. We wish you all the best as you make this important decision. Thank you for reading our page, and we hope to hear from you. Bob and Regina
Our Lifestyle A healthy, active lifestyle is very important to both of us. Bob is an avid bicyclist and triathlete. Regina runs several times a week with friends, and runs an occasional race. We generally eat a healthy diet, and TRY to avoid the temptation of the sweets that we both love! We love to travel, and we would like to share that with our children so they can experience different cultures. On our honeymoon, we visited a child that Bob sponsors through the Christian Children's Fund in her small village in Kenya, Africa. That was definitely the highlight of the trip. (Though being charged by an elephant was, shall we say, exciting, too!) We also love the beach, and we own a beach house.
Our Background We both come from a background of strong Christian values, having both attended Catholic schools for most of our lives. (Love those uniforms!) Bob grew up as the oldest child of three in a middle class family of German and Hungarian descent. Regina grew up as the seventh of nine kids in a middle class Irish Catholic family. (So you can see that your child would have plenty of relatives!) We also both grew up with a strong work ethic, having put ourselves through school. We are big believers in education, and we both have graduate degrees. Bob works as an engineer and Regina as a lawyer, which we realize makes us sound like the most boring couple on earth! Luckily, we can laugh at ourselves (and we often do) since we also realize how important a sense of humor is in life. We try to approach all of our decisions with a positive attitude and as a team.
At Home We are Bob and Regina, and we live in a quiet suburban neighborhood near pools, parks, wooded paths, and some of the best schools in our area. Our four bedroom home is in a cul-de-sac, making it ideal for the neighborhood kids to play. In fact, the neighborhood Halloween parade ends in our circle, where the kids proudly show off their costumes! Our fenced-in backyard is perfect for our two sweet Golden Retrievers, who live for us to throw the tennis ball for them to retrieve.
